Alcohol Impaired Driving in Texas

As many as 25% of drivers in this country admit to having driven under the influence of alcohol. As many as 3 out of every 10 drivers are at risk for being involved in an alcohol-related crash at some point in their lives. This report identifies the characteristics of those offenders who come to the attention of the criminal justice system. It also reviews the laws in this state that apply to combating alcohol-related incidents. Ignition interlock devices have been introduced to prevent repeat offenders from driving under the influence.
