Victims of violence, despite the extent of their injuries and fears, are often disinclined to seek an order of protection out of concern that their reports will not be believed and fear that the abuse will continue even after the protection order is obtained. To encourage these victims to make reports to the police and to seek an order of protection, the process must be user friendly and supportive.
